IITF 2009, Pragati Maidan Delhi

I was in the pragati maidan for The International Trade Fair 2009. Initially although i felt i chose the wrong day (Sunday) to be here but later was convinced as what pleasure could it be to watch a huge fair with less people.. The crowd is an attraction as well.

Among the usual state wise stalls the following seem very appealing stalls from Maharashtra, TamilNadu, AndhraPradesh, Standing out even.

Not to miss Hall number 12.
The stalls from Thailand, Afghanistan, Pakisthan, Bangladesh.
Get some nice massage from Thai masseurs at a nominal cost of Rs 200/15 mins for foot massage, body massage, or neck and shoulder.
The Stone works (Onex) from Pakistan was superb but so costly.
The silver furniture store was one more good thing out there... Dining table for 4 L and similar costs for a furniture set , and a swing all made of solid silver..

The arrangement for food was one thing that the organizers should re-think for next year. The reason may be attributed such huge crowd, feeding lakhs can be an infrastructural issue but thinking of the coming Common Wealth games this is one more hurdle that needs to be tackled

Got a few souvenirs for this year (Some pearl jewelery from Hyderabad stores), Turkish evil eye pendant (remember it was hot pick last year)

And finally the welcome relief for this year was the way in which the Delhi Metro comes to the rescue of a large percentage of crowd. My ride from Pragati Maidan station to Noida in the newly build line was the main event for the day.
